Voted Birmingham’s Best Italian Restaurant in the 2002 annual Birmingham’s Best readers’ poll
Birmingham News – Friday, May 24, 2002
“Dinner at Lovoy’s is always a special treat…I love the comfortable atmosphere at Lovoy’s – no one is out of place, whether in a suit and tie or shorts and sandals. I also love the soft lighting, the Italian opera that fills the air and the little red and white checkerboard tablecloths. But most of all, I love the wonderful, homestyle Italian food.”

“Our food was quick to arrive after we finished our salads. Every dish served at Lovoy’s is freshly prepared when ordered, and our selections arrived steaming slightly.
The stuffed shells were absolutely fantastic. Every bite was a delight with the flavors of hearty tomato sauce, delicious beef and a mixture of perfectly blended cheeses.
The veal also turned out to be a tasty treat. The breadcrumb covered veal steak was seasoned perfectly and fried to a deep golden brown. Its flavor and texture were both wonderfully rich. The sauce-covered pasta was a perfect complement to the veal as well.”

“Anytime my husband and I are in the mood for great Italian cuisine, one of us will immediately say, “What about Lovoy’s?” After all, the Lovoy family has been serving great food at the Greensprings restaurant for almost 38 years, and you know it’s always going to be good…
Perhaps one key to the longevity of Lovoy’s success is consistently getting things just right and just the way the customer wants it. Visiting the restaurant becomes somewhat like dining at a favorite family member’s home.”
